SubjectYork County, SC Disasters
On the morning of September 3, 1903, Southern Railway Engine No. 25 loaded passengers in Rock Hill and headed toward York, SC. About three miles east of York the tracks crossed Fishing Creek. The trestle collapsed that morning plunging the engine, tender, baggage car, mail car and second class coach into the creek. The white passenger car stopped inches from the edge.
